I’m Utku, a clinical counsellor based in Vancouver. My path into this work began with supporting young people facing substance use, trauma, and complex life circumstances. Over time, I’ve expanded my practice to include adults of all ages who are seeking not just coping strategies, but a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
Before moving into private practice, I helped design and lead harm reduction programs and worked as part of interdisciplinary teams supporting clients facing a wide range of challenges. These experiences shaped my belief that therapy is not about offering quick fixes, but about creating a space where meaningful and lasting change can take root.
Having lived in several countries and now being an immigrant in Canada, I am familiar with the challenges of navigating identity, belonging, and adaptation within a new culture. These experiences continue to shape the way I approach my work and have deepened my appreciation for the many ways people make meaning in their lives.
My role as a therapist is to help you explore the patterns shaping your life and relationships, and to support you in developing a more compassionate and grounded understanding of yourself.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy watching Formula 1, playing volleyball, reading novels, and spending time in nature. I also value deep and thoughtful conversations with friends — the same curiosity and openness I bring to my work as a therapist.
